At the tallow auctions, IoG7 casks were offered, and 1000 sold. Prices are unchanged. West Australia is issuing a loan of £1,445,000 at 8A per cent.., with a'minimum of 9QJ,. and underwritten on the usual terms. The loan is repayable 103") to 1900, and a half year's interest is payable on October Ist. Wool is meeting with keen competition a.t the highest rates of the series. The American visible supply of wheat is 38,748,000 bushels.

The Treasurer, considering the genera! unsettled state of affairs, is satisfied 'with the loan flotation. It cost about £3 10s 7d per cent., and is intended chiefly for railways and harbour works.
