S.C. TROTTING CLUB
A committee meeting of the South Canterbury Trotting Club was held in the Stone" Stables last evening. - Iresent— Messrs J. Sinclair (in the chair), E C Watson, W. Cookson, E. J. Smith, H. Scarf. W. Ogden, G. Robinson, and H. Eraser" (secretary). • The New Zealand Trotting Association wrote stating that Air Reynolds appeal against the fine imposed upon him by the club had been upheld. — Received. The Association also stated that the Club could not remit a fine imposed upon Air Logan, as all fines are the property of the Association and had to be sent up at once. —It was decided to send the fine to the Association. ; It was decided to obtain a copy of volume 11. of the Trotting Stud Book at a price of 15s. The South Canterbury branch of'the British Medical Association wrote stating that no medical man could be elected an honorary surgeon of any trotting club N and no medical man's name could be printed on a programme as such without the payment of a retaining fee. The chairman said he had to report on behalf of the sub-conunittec that the South Canterbury Coursing Club and the Racecourse Trustees had agreed to allow the formation- of a trotting track on their property. The committee had undertaken to leave all fences, etc., in a proper condition after every race meeting.—lt was decided to take steps for the formation of a sixfurlong track, the sub-committee to confer with a -surveyor.
The secretary read an application to be forwarded to the Conference for a totalisator permit. - Two new members were elected, and the meeting terminated.
