He:stated that a. Syrian attacked him with' an axe, it is supposed with the intention of robbing him. A heap of- wood was collected near the scene of the ', attack. It is believed that the Syrian meant to cremate Firinegan's body. The Syrian was not captured, though he is suffering from a shot wound inflicted by' one of. .;his pursuers. - Received 12.50 a.m.,-May 14th.
A. third man has been arrested in, connection with, the Reefton case. Finegan asserts that his assailants were Englishmen.
