FOOTBALL.

A practice of the Pirates' Football Club will be held in the Stone stables this evening. All members are requested to attend. All players of the Timaru Football Club are requested to attend practice at the Club rooms to-night at 7.30. The coach will be present to instruct the teams, and as it is imperative that- a full muster of players should be present in order that his tuition may be effective, it is earnestly desired that each member will make a special effort to attend.

The following are. the referees appointed for Thursday's matches: —Seniors: Pirates v. Celtic, Mr A. Shirtcliffe; Star v. Temuka, Mr D. Rodgers. Juniors: Celtic v. Athletic, Mr A. Dunn; Zingari v. Ccraldine, Mr G. Glover; Temuka v. P. Point, Mr Thomas; Pirates v. Star, Mr "W. Raymond. Presidents —Pirates v. Celtic, Mr Newton: Zingari v. Geraldine, Mr E. Allott; Temuka v. Athletic, Mr A. Cuthbert.

The following plavers will represent Athletic I. against Celtic 11., at Athletic grounds, on Thursday next, play commencing at 3.15 p.m. sharp:—R. Gillespie, Jas. Spillane, B. Spillane, S.
