A SUCCESSFUL CRUISE

WELLINGTON, May U. The Government training ship Amokura returned yesterday from what the master (Captain Hooper, R.N.R_.), states to have been a highly successful cruise 011 the East Coast/ of "tlie .North Island. The vessel proceeded from here as iar north as Hauraki Gulf, where gun practice took place. She called at rologa Bay oil her way lionic. Tlio lads had an excellent training in throwing the lead and other arts of seamanship. The Amokura. will remain in port for the winter, and the lads arc shortly to have a fortnight's holiday leave. Many of them are now iully competent toi service, liaviug served the tunc appointed for apprenticeship.
