AMUSEMENTS.
A SCOTTISH ENTERTAINMENT, The mere mention, of the name of Scotland's great poet Roberta Burns, is always sufficient to create an enthusiasm among Scottish people, and yet it is not often that the public have an opportunity of listening to an appreciation of Burns delivered by one thoroughly versed in the subject-. This is the case with Miss Jean Howison, of Perth, Scotland, who will deliver her celebrated lecture on Burns in the Assembly Rooms, on Wednesday, 12th May, at 8 o'clock. Miss Howison has travelled all over the world and lectured in the chief cities -of Britain, America and Canada before commencing her Australian campaign. Press reports of her work speak in the highest terms of her ability on the lecture platformy and as an interpreter of Scottish characteV. The Mayor has kindly consented to preside.
