Koonya should arrive uore to-day from the south, and loads for Wellington, New Plymouth . lid the West Coast. The s.s. Storm arrived from the south yesterday with a small general cargo to discharge. She loads produce for Wanganui. The s.s. Ripple arrived : yesterday from the Chatham-: Islands with a shipment of sheep. The vessel also brought a few.-passengers'to Timaru. LAKE STEAMER WRECKED. THE ULIMAROA GROUNDING. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, April 29. ■ News'has been received in Dunedin that the Lake Wanaka. steamship Makarora became a complete wreck yesterday. No details are to hand except that the passengers and mails are safe. ' 'At a meeting of the Harbour Board to-day. 'the committee which was appointed to consider the position of the grounding of the Uulmaroa while coming up the harbour, submitted a- report, in which it expressed the opinion that the master of the vessel (Captain Wyllie )had not exercised ordinary care in * the navigation of his vessel, and recdmmended that his pilotage exemp-tion-certificate be withdrawn, the captain to have the option of applying in three months for reinstatement. After a lengthy discussion the recommendation was rejected-by six votes to four. In the course of the discussion the opinion was freely expressed that m the event of such an .accident in the harbour again the Board should be represented at any enquiry that is held.
