Mr and Mrs Ralph Dynes, of Kingsdown, left for a trip to Sydney and uuensland, yesterday. At' the District Court yesterday at Nelson members of the Bar farewelled Judge Haselden who sat for the last time in Nelson owing to the abolition of the District Court. . Mr H. V. Gully, Town Clerk of Nelson, was last night the recipient of six presentations from all branches ot the municipal service. Mr Gully has held the position for thirty-five years and is retiring to enter legal practice. Mr Robert Stone, a very old resident of the Thames (Auckland) died yesterday. He was said to be the first man in New Zealand to build a stehmer, and he took the. first steamer out of Auckland harboun^^^^^^^^
