Per Press Association. rr, WELLINGTON, April 29. 1 lie Minister Railwilys, as ii pre* 11 nimary Stop, has-jggued instructions tor fitty couplers, constructed according to Pearson's patent, to be fitted up on trains in the North and South Islands. This is the invention of Mr Pearson, foreman at Pctone workshops, and is applied to the Westinghouso brake. The largest- estate certified for probate duty during the month of April was tlmt of Robert Maunsell (Wellington), £101,422. The following are estates certified for duty in the Christchurch district:—Christchurch: Henry J. Wnshboiirne, £13,791; William Little, £"240 ; Daniel Gorrie, £5445; Samuel Coleman, £6384; Phoebo Brown, £3919: John .1. Loe, £2012; William Ledsham, " £1622: Susan Hopgood, £T299; Martha Ellis, £1284; Mary J. Morrison, £740; John Weld, £697. BUNEDIN, April 29. At the Police Court this morning G. S. Thomson, manager nf the New Zealand Trade Guarantee Association, which collects debts and commission, was fined £4 and costs on a. charge of issuing a document ivhich misled people into believing the said document had a legal effect.
