STRIKE OF WHEELERS. TROUBLE AT BROKEN HILL. Tress Associution-By Telegraph-Copyright SVDNEI', April 28. A strike of wheelers lias stopped work at the Cliftou and South Clifton collieries. 1 he late employees of the Proprietary and Block X. mines have decided not to resume work until the companies officially recognise the combined Unions. This is causing trouble at Port Piric smelting works, where a number of hands who resumed work, were given a hostile reception by a large crowd, and two were assaulted. A strong force ol police is required to keep order. EXCLUDING THE PRESS. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 29. The Wellington Trades and Labour Council to-night resolved that in future the representatives of capitalistic newspapers he excluded from, the Council's weekly meetings.
