April 29th. LONDON, April 29. At the Antwerp wool sales, there were numerous buyers and good competition. The catalogue consisted mostly of crossbred wool. Common sorts were from par to 5 per cent, 'higher. A total of 2828 bales of La Plata wool were offered, and 1920 were sold. . THE HIDE MARKET. Received 10 p.m., April 29th. : MELBOURNE, April 29. Hides are meeting with a good demand.at jd to id decline, owing to wet weather. AUSTRALIAN TRADE. SYDNEY, April 29. The imports to Australia during the first three motiths of the year decreased bv £581,000, and exports increased by £1,812,000, compared with tlie same period last year. • BANKS MEAT COMPANY. Per Press Association. WOODVILLU, April 29. A well-attended meeting of deben-ture-holders of: the Banks Meat Company was lipid here this afternoon. The financial statement of the last six months' trading was read which showed ■a. very satisfactory state of affairs. •Those present expressed their approval of the same by passing liearty votes of thanks to the receiver and ..manager (Mr W. Nicholson), and to the chairman and members of the management committee. Various matters of importance were brought up ,and. considered* and the management committee wore empowered to deal with them as occasion required.
