Forty persons novo killed at Benavento, and lift-pen at Samorra and Correia. SHOCKS 'FELT IN SPATN. MADRID, April 25. Heavy earthquake shocks were felt at Madrid, "Cardona, /Malaga. Seville, Valladolid, Jerizbz, and Bazayoz. Cl RECORDS AT SYDNEY! Received 12,-j a.m., April 27th. SYDNEY, April 26. During the week.ended Saturday, a number of records of minor earth tremors were registered at the Observatory. On April 23rd one was recorded which was probably^that which caused the danger in; Portugal. It was similar in intensity to the Messina record.
A sharp shock of earthquake was felt at Blenheim; at 10.24 on Saturday night. A fairly sharp shock was felt at Eltham about 10.30 on Saturdaynight; and at Nelson at 10.14. No damage was done.
