Mr Frank Robertshaw, who has teen connected with ; the Dresden Piano Company for the past twenty-three years, is in Timaru, having come up here from Dunedin for a lew weeks.

There passed au;ay in Timaru last Thursday a very respected resident in the person of Mr W. J. Campbell, engineman New Zealand .railways. He had been stationed in Timaru for a considerable number of years-, and had been a diligent worker. He was always foremost in bringing forward anything that was for. the betterment of the condition of the workers as a whole, ;and he had the respect of every fellow-worker in Timaru. His death, after a very short illness, east quite a gloom over all those who knew him. Letters of condolence and telegrams of sympathy have been received from all over : the colony; wreaths have been sent by the Timaru railway men, and also from the Enginedrivers, Firemen's and Cleaners' Association, Christeirurch, also a letter of condolence from the Timaru branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants. His funeral takes place'to-morrow, when no doubt a large number of friends will follow , his remains to their last resting j place. He leaves a wife and a large family-to mourn his loss, one son, Mr Val Campbell, being a railway fireman at Fairlie.
