PERSONAL ITEMS.
Mr 1 Walter Boys, member of the wellknown Timaru family, who has been for the past three years in the clerical branch of the Public Works Department, has run down from Auckland for a short holiday in Timaru. Allan MacDougall, of Victoria College, Wellington, was last evening selected as the Rhodes Scholar from New Zealand for 1909. A cable froi'i Fremnntle states that Madame Melba arrived there yesterday by the mail steamer from London.
