FIRES.

Per Press Association. '. . s GISBORNE, Feb. 23. A. twelve-roomed house used as. an adjunct to Gladstone House boardinghouse, owned by Mr J. Townley, and occupied by Mr C. Ferguson, was destroyed by fire at 4.15. p.m. yesterday. The building was insured for £4OO in the Alliance office, and the contents for £2OO iu the Guardian office. Tho house had been used for many years as a doctor's residence. The boarders lost heavily. NELSON,.Feb.. 23. Mr T. A. Price's sawmill, at Belgrove, was destroyed by lire. Only the engine was saved. The loss is heavy, and there are no details as to the insurances.
