CYCLONES.
" MANY HOUSES DESTROYED. LOSS OF LIFE. Press Assoeiation-By Telegraph-Copyright BRISRANE, Feb. 22. A cyclone unroofed a number of houses at- Tharglomindah and Cunnamiilla, and did other extensive damage. A man named Knowles was struck dead by lightning. AT THE ISLANDS. WRECKS AND RUIN. .TWELVE PERSONS MISSING. SYDNEY, Feb. 22. The crew of the barque- Joliette, which was wrecked at New Caledonia in a cyclone, have arrived. Details show that the barque was lying at the wharf before the storm began. She was pulled . out, but drifted back and bumped until, she was stove in and foundered. Slie also seriously damaged the wharf. The crew in the meantime, after spending several hours in the rigging, clambered on to the wharf.
The small steamer. Poro was totally wrecked, but the crew were say.ed. •The. schooner Gabrielle, with about a dozen passengers, is missing.; It is supposed ' that she has been,.' lost. Several other vessels were damoged, and a large tract of country was devastated. '•''
