The Premier, in a policy speech, placed the adherence by tlifi 1' ederal .'parliament to the conditions upon which federation was accomplished in the foremost place in his programme. It is intended to vigorously advertise the island with a view to aiding laud settlement and the workers. An endeavour will be made to turn the limitless water supply to profitable account, in the hope that manufactories will be established.
