Dr. Mason, Chief Health Officer, and Dr. Finch, District Health Officer, came down from Christchurch yesterday to attend a conference regarding a consumption sanatorium. The former went on to Dunedm in the afternoon.

At the conference of the New Zealand Dental Association, held at Wellington last month, Mr Edwin Cox, L.D.S., Eng., lather of Dr. Cox, Timaru, was unanimously elected an honorary life member of the Association. A similar honour was conferred upon Mr Cox last year by the Auckland Dental Association. Three sons of Mr Cox are dental practitioners in the Dominion, and his only daughter, Mrs H. C. Heath, of Auckland, is also a registered dentist by examination.
