SHIPPING CASUALTIES.
STEAMER IN' DISTRESS. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 14. It is reported that a large steamer, name at present unknown, is ashore or broken down off the mouth of the Hurunni Rivet. 1 Immediately on her arrival from Wellington this morning the Union Company's Mararoa was sent up the coast to render assistance.
