CHILD SACRIFICE,

The Governor of Bavas Moroland, Philippines, describes the carefullyplanned, spearing to death of a child who was sacrificed to the gods to appease evil spirits. Death was almost instantaneous. The body was chopped into bits, and everyone present was allowed to take away a small portion as i memento, the remainder being buried. The natives who participated in the ragedy were sentenced to long terms •[ imprisonment. They were unuvare of wrong-doing, and sentence vas suspended on condition that the )raetiec is stopped.
