I TROTTING CLUB'S MEETING. The South Canterbury Trotting Club will Jiold its inaugural meeting on the WaslidykQ racecourse on Thursday next, and given fine weather, the meeting promises to be an unqualified success. The acceptances are very satisfactory, and most of the best trotters in Canterbury will be among the starters. A first class programme has beeu drawn up, liberal stakes are being offered, and there is no reason why the meeting should not be among the best of its kind held anywhere in the Dominion for the handicaps have been so adjusted as to ensure close and exciting finishes, and the committee of management is composed of enthusiasts who are determined to leave nothing wanting on their part to ensure success. A special train will run out from Timaru to the course, leaving liene .at.1.15 p.m. The first race will start at 2 p.m.
