SHOOTING
S.C.M.R* The S.C.M.R. Rifles fired last Saturday evening, at 700 yards for trophies presented by'Mr W. Harper and Captain Grcsson, and also for the first stage of Major Lindsay's aggr» - gate. There was a strong wind blowing, as-much as 18 degrees windage tie ing required. Private Dawson wins with 34—0—39, and Corporal second, with 37 —0—37. On Thursday trie corps will fire for the Hayliurst cup, starting at 12 o'clock sharp as marKers are not available till thai hour. - The next trophy match will be fired 'on Thursday evening at 200 yards'. The following should fire for the cup, and any man unable to shoot is. requested to let Lieutenant Smith know at once: Smith, Q.M.S. Williams, Sergeants Butcher and Prinuje. Corporals Hurdley and Mitchell, Bugler bundborn, Privates Dawson, i'arrv, Bassett and Robinson. The match will be fired in uniform.
ST. ANDREWS RIFLE CLUB. The members of the .St. Andrews Rifle Club held a competition on Saturday for trophies presented by Messrs M. Kennedy and D. Kcnnard. The weather was very rough and good shooting was almost an impossibility. The following are the principal scores:
