She took in 191 tons of produce, and got away last night for Wellington and New Plymouth. The Karamea is due this afternoon from Oamaru to load wool and meat. • The Koromiko should be here to-mor-row Twith a cargo of Newcastle coal. The-steamer Hawea, ashore at Greymouth, has been badly knocked about by the heavy westerly weather that has prevailed on the Coast for some time. A diver went down and examined the vessel, which he found to be so badly damaged that it is thought the work" of refloating her is hopeless. Captains Bone and MacDougal, representing the Shaw, Savill and Albion, and New Zealand Shipping Companies will, visit Nelson shortly to inspect and report upon the harbour as workable for the steamers of these companies. TKe" port of Oamaru is slowly forging ahead. The Shaw-Savill and Albion Company's s.s. Karamea was berthed at the-Holmes wharf, on Saturday last, notwithstanding the adverse weather conditions. The Karamea took eUUU carcases of lamb and mutton and about 3600 bales of wool from the southern port.
