ADDINGTON STOCK .MARKET. Per Press AuociUion. CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. it. At the Addington live stock market to-day there was a fairly large entry of stock and a good attendance. Fat cattle showed a drop in values. Store sheep met with an improved enquiry. Fat lambs were firmer in consequence of competition from export buyers, ami pigs were easier. Sheep.—The yarding of store sheep was about equal to that of last week in point of numbers, and there were several lines that showed, qnality al>ove the average. The enquiry for ewes was better than at recent sales, due, no doubt, to the ram that has fallen on part* of the Plains, and all good lots changed hands at late rates, backward sorts being rather easier. The demand for dry sheep was slack, and likely to show no improvement until there is a more decided break in the weather. The yarding of fat iambs was much larger than of late, being the largest for the season, and the quality was all good t«> prime. The export buyers were operating for farger lots. and this tended to a much firmer tone in the market, the prices they were bought at ranging from 14s Id to l(>s. A few heavy weight Imbs bought by hntehers made up to 17s 4d. and light weights I.ls to lis. There was a fairly large entry of fat sheep, including some prime lines of both wethers and ewes. The snpply was beyond butchers' requirements, and as two export buyers were operating in suitable lines, this tended to steady the market, though prices were on a lower level than those of last week. The range of prices was:—Prime shorn wethers l-">s fid to ITs 6d. lighter 14s to Iss. woolly wether* 16*? 8d to ITs Id., prime ewes l.'ts to 16s 6d, extra to 17s 3d. others W-j 1-1 to 12s 6d, merino wethers 0s ."xl to lis.
