In reference to the Japanese suggestion that * conference of the Powers should (Lfccuas matter* containing ponvbilisk* of friction in the Pacific, the Consuls-General of Germany and France were interviewed, and said that they considered that there are no points of friction for France and Germany to discuss. The opinion is generally .held in foreign c'nlw here that the only friction which could be dibcu*«:d is that between China and Japan on the on© side and America and Australia on the-'other. The Continental Powers havt nothing to discuss, and it would be foolish to allow themselves to be dragged in.
