Cape Portland reports that.- a large barque, name, unknown, struck the reef, at Foster's Island at 9 o'clock this morning, and sankswith tall hand.-*.: The" colour of the hnll w;as black.; with. a >white Ijne. . Boats were lowered from the barque, but, apparently.' the crew had wo time to do anything. . - Later reports state tHafc a small piece of sail was visible for a time where the disaster occurred; " Signals to Foster Island were riot replied to, and no boats were visible. FOUR SURVIVORS. Received 1.10 a.m., Sept. 28th. i/ LAUNCESTON. Sept, 27/ ,Cape Portland wires to-night s that four survivors were found. There are no other details.
