COMPANY TO WIND UP. Per Press Association. \, WELLINGTON, Sept. 25. v At an ex.raordinaiy meeting of the Wellington Athletic Park Company today, it" was resolved to wind up the company- voluntarily. The Wellington Rugby Union » to take over the company's lease and all its assets except booka of account.-. The lease is for 65 year» in terms «f 21 vears each, the Srst of which has nearly expired. The paid-up capital of the company is stated "in the last balance sheet at £237.' ' . The SouUi Canterbury Harriers held a Miroke concert and distribution of prizes in Throp's tea. rooms last night, Mr P. J. Dunn presiding. He referred to the flourishing state ot the club..both in numbers and finance, and gave a short resume of the chief events of the season just dosed. At the annua! meeting of the Folding Centre of tlw New Zealand Athletic Union held today, the report stated that the Government measure forbidding betting airport* meetings would greatly purify sport. Athletes who had left xh e Union in-order to run at an Auckland Gaslight meeting were now endeavouring To enter the Union, the new betting restrictions having flopped gas light meetings.
