The conference of the New Zealand Post- and Telegraph Officers' Association at present- sitting •in Wellington passed the following resolutions to-Uay: —" ilia conference places on record its. sympathy wit>h Messrs Cummins and Schmidt, - ihel>ers of the Association, in the unfortunate position • in which, they were recently placed by being falsely accused of theft and forgery, and hereby very 'heartily congratulate them Von their . happy and full acquittal." ; The conference also expresses indignation at the .harsh manner in which they were treated while' under arrest, and trusts that never again will any- of its menibeis b*- subjected *o such stir chamber methods.
