LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL, WELLIKGTON|.Sept. 17. The Councß met atr 2.30 p.iil. AMENDMENTS AGREED TO.
The amendments made by the House to the Declaratory judgments Bill \Hxc agreed to. BILL PASSED. The Inangahua County Bill was put through Committee, read a third time and passed. SECOXD READINGS. The Matamau County Bill, Hokitika Haibuur Bill, and Auckland (Symond *t.) Cemeteries Bill were read a second time. THE MAXAWATU l£&E. \ The Attorney-General in ond reading of the Railway Purchase Bill said tbat,the Premier had" made a creditable bargaiii wiUi the owners of the line, a bargain which wan also satisfactory to the people of tliC Dominion. He explained tl»e provisions of iho JJill \rhich have already been fully reported. . Mr Mac Donald complimented ilio Attor-ney-General on the satisfactory arrangements the Government had made. Mr McArdle, Mr Bechan, Mr Loughnan, Mr Paul and Mr Jones also .complimented the Government. The Council adjourned at 4-55 p.m.
