ST. ANDREWS SALE.

The usual fortnightly sale was held at and 22 cattle were yarded. The sa e and 22 cattle werwe yarded. The sale throughout was a very dragging one, consequently sales at auction were not_numeroub. The Canterbury Farmers' Co-operative Association, Ltd." report holding a clearing sale on account of Mr S. McCully, Seadown, on Thursday. There was a very large attendance of farmers present- fromall parts of the district. In consequence of the farm being sold every lot coming ■under the hammer was for unreserved sale. Competition for all lines of ftock and implements was good and a complete clearance was effected at full market yalues. Guinness and LeCren, Ltd., in conjunction with Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report holding a successful clearing sale yesterday at Pine Hill, Totara Valley, on account of Mr J. C. King. There was a large attendance of farmers from the surrounding districts, all the live stock and farming plant were in first rate condition and being for unreserved sale, there was brisk competition. The following are some of the principal items. Sheep: 6 and 8-tooth J-bred evrcs in lamb to B.L. rams, .50 at 17s 9d. 100 at 17s 6d, 206 at 17s 3d; 197 full and failing mouthed -2-bred ewes in lamb at 15s 4d, 35 -J-bred hoggets at lis: Border Leicester rams 6 at one guinea, 8 at half guinea. Horses : Draughts, bay mare Dolly £56 10s, bay mare Polly £4l, bay gelding Bob £4O, bav gelding Lion £4O, bay gelding Tom £2B, bay gelding Prince £25 10s, bar mare Mag £2l, bay filly rising 3yrs £4O.
