Afc a meeting of the Napier Harbour Board, the question of joining the, Hawke's Bay Employers' Association came under review. The chairman said that, at, lqfifc meeting he had questioned the action, of the Board in deciding to join the Association and had then agreed with it. He had. since made enquiries and found that no other Board had joined an employers' association and it was illegal, for the Board to um.i its funds for purposes of entering such a body. On the motion of ihe chairman i it was decided to rescind the previous resolution -and not to join the Association. OAMARU, August. 25. This morning Mr Hnrohinson, S.M., fined Richard Andrews, for whom Mr Hanlon, of Dunedin appeared, £2O, for keeping liquor on sale in a no-license district. A similar charge against his wife, Margaret Andrews, was withdrawn, when Richard Andrews pleaded guilty.
