CROSSCOUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP. The fourth annual inter-club Five Miles Cross Country Championship promoted by the Otago Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association was held at Wingatui (Dunedin) on Saturday. Twelve teams staled, representing the Dunedin (two teams), Civil Service, Cavvrsham .Anglican, Y.M.C.A., Southern Bible Class, Tokomaii iro,: Sautli . Canterbury, St. Joseph's, Congregational, and Port Chalmers Harriers. The track was very similar to that of former years, the rnnnem doing about three furlongs on the course, then along the foot of the hills to Siher.stream, crossing over the Otago Central railway, back through Janefiekl and ploughed and grays paddocks, finishing on the course at the grandstand; The field wars well spread out before the course was left, C'laughron being among those prominent. Reaching Silverstream, M/Knigbfc (G'aversham) had established a good lead, with the field well strung out.
