The enqniry for mint or. shows no signs of improvement, and prices ax© -practically unchanged- Thex-r is however, a tendency for values to -weaken a little. Xorth Island are quoted a t s|d to 3Jd per lb. Eo r good useful quality, but inftrior grades :ire wiling as low .-is 7»UI pei- ll». The quotation for Canterbury mutton has not changed for ' some weeks. * Xew Zealand Lamb.—Stocks have been added to during the month by the arrival. o£ 287,164 carcases, but the. aggregate figures for the period from the Ist January, to date show a. decrease of 242.171 carcase-- when compared with the corresponding period of last- year. As, however, advices. from the colony refer to rapid recovery from the effects of <he drought earlier in the year, and there are now a large number of lambs afloat, it appears probable that there will not he' any great difference in the total imports over the year. Prices show no qßotable change, although a little weakness has been apparent, which, however, is not expected to be of any consequence. Second-class lambs, owing to their relatively lower price, are in better demand than best ibe general range of values being from 5Jd to s|-d per lb. for all grades, the ontptrt being steady and satisfactory.
