HOCKEY.
Wesley and ■ Timaru played off for the hockey competition •on Thursday, and 'a good game resulted. Play was very fast and interesting, and resulted in a win for Timaru by one goal to nil. Scales scored for Timaru.
The match: Dominion (Temuka) v. Geraldine A was played at Geraldine,. on Thursday ; when the home team secured, an easy victory. The conditions were favourable for a good game, but the issue was never in doubt, aicer the first. 10 minutes. Five goals were scored 'by Geraldine in each spell, those responsible being O. Anderson (5), Y. Anderson (3),. R. Anderson and M. Sutherland. The final games for the Marshall Cup were played on Thursday afternoon, when Timami met and defeated Wesley by 2 goals to nil; Rawhiti beat Tui by 3 goals to nil. The cup has been won by Rawhiti, who have an unbeaten record in the competition, Timaru being runners-up. Last night a meeung of delegates of the Hockey Association was held in Hutchinson's Tea Rooms, to arrange for the six-a-side tournament which is fixed for September 3rd, to be.played on the Athletic Ground. Over 20 teams, girls' and men' 6, have decided to compete.
