the. Privy Council allowed the appeal in the case of W. P. Crick, ex-Minister •of Lands for New South Wales, against Harnett, ; Sergeant-at-Arms, ,in the Assembly, over-riding defendant's demurrer, arid dismissing • the action with costs. In July, 1906, the Assembly " adopted a resolution suspending Crick- from attendance until he had" undergone his trial' in connection with the land scandals'. Crick, refusing to comply, was removed, arid then brought; an action against the Ser-geant-at-Arms for . assault and removal fijom the House. Defendant pleaded that he was acting under the Standing Orders, and the Full Court gave judgment for plaintiff on. the demurrer. . Defendant then appealed to the; Privy Council with the result stated a:bove.
