"Beef.—The market is quiet, an.l the demand is foiling off. " Butter.—The market, i.s very firm with a, good demand. The butter "by the s.s. Turakina arrived in good condition, and found a market at an average price of 116s per cwfc. " Cheese.—The market is steady, but without animation. New Zealand white makes 625; coloured 59s per cwt. " Hemp.—The' market is depressed. Tlia following are current quotations .-—Good fair grade on spot, £26; fair .grade oil spot, £23; fair current' Manila on spot, £22 per ton; July to September slrpments good fair grade, £25 '10s; fair grade, £22 10s; fair current Manila, £2l 10s. .... " Wool.—The market is firm with a hardening tendency. " Hops.—The market- is dull, with very little business doing."
