ADVICE TO THE COUNCIL.
(To the Editor of the "Timaru Herald.")
Sir,—What li s b.en on eyesore to the residents oflii;h titrect and which hu-s yeai-s ago eurr.c'.i the reputation of being condemned, is a. shanty in this rising residential locality. The occupant has now shifted to another district, and id not-''the time opportune'for the Ji;t;jiei.tor to condemn the building?. Such places of abode only bring undesirable folk into a locality that worthy residents shun, arid progress is debarred. For suth an unsightly conglomeration of Mtauties to be allowed to exist oppisite 6iich a handsome residence as that lately occupied by Mr-Gunn is a disgrace. With good residences on either side this eyesore, is allowed to remain, and is not worthy \C«f ■our so-called progressive Council. —1 ani '' "■■ TROGRESS.
