LICENSING QUESTION.
LIQUOR AND LABOUR. Per Vrp-ss Association WELLINGTON, July 24. At the animal meeting of the New Zealand Licensed Victuallers' Association to-day the following resolution was passed :—" That -members' of tliis Association, in annual session assembled, have learned with deep regret that the statement has been made in the- Trades and Labour Conference, now sitting in Wellington, 'That it was an instruction by the executive of the Liceneed Victuallers' Association to take a -unanimous stand against) Labour': This meeting now places on record the fact that no instruction, as 'stated has ever been sent by the executive of the Licensed" Victuallers' Association, uor has any such motion been discussed. Further, tliis meeting; strongly deprecates the suggestion that the Licensed Victuallers' Association of New Zealand )« hostile to organised labour in any form.'
