He was sentenced to six years' transportation and fined a thousand rupees. The trial lasted eight days, Tilak's address, occupying six. Judge Devar stated that Ids art.icle.-5 seethed with sedition. He encouraged violence and approved of murders. Choniibs, a printer of the " Jugantar," has been sentenced to three years' imprisonment at Calcutta, in addition. lo his previous sentence of tiwo and a half years for inciting to rebellion and "murder.'
