Robert Hart, who remarked that China's transition might be prolonged, but the transformation was certain. China was destined to take a place in the front rank of the nations. He hoped that Britain's sympathy and moral support of China would continue. r INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITIONS. . The Board of Trade has formed a branch dealing with matters relating to British participation in future inoernatohal exhibitions, and to superintend the. organisation of exhibits. Mr Win to we has been appoin'ed head of the branclv, and Sir Isidore Spielmann director of the art section.
