An official report shows t-hwt the . industrial, establishments, in the State at the end of last year numbered 526 more than in the previous year. The hands employed numbered an., increase of 9372, and the wages paid amounted, to £6,679,000, an increase of £1,088,000. The average.wage Was £76 12s, compared -with £7l 17s, during the,past, seven years. The employment of female labour doubled, and male employment) increased by 6'i per cent. A MISSING STEAMER. MELBOURNE, May 15. The search, steamers found no trace of the Orion which h overdue, from Tasmania. All vessels are keeping a sharp look-out. The Orion ;had only a short supply of provisions, and if drifting or disabled, it i.-t feared that the supply will soon be exhausted.
