The South Canterbury Coursing Club concluded its first meeting of tho >on at the riunipton, Washdykc -rferday afternoon, when the dogs loft iryfe Champion and Supplementary conclusions. The day was cold and bleak and the attendance of the- public was not l.uge, owners of dogs and bookmakers predominating. Trior to running off .the two iiiiins Mr L. K. Eaton, of Genie and Co., conducted an auction sale of a few of the competitiors at the meeting. A good deal of enthusiasm was manifested over the concluding courses and the winners and runuers-up of the two stakes were lustily cheered. Following are the results : TIMARU CHAMPION STAKE; first dog £75, runner-up £25, two dogs £7 each, three dogs £3 10s each, seven winners of two courses £3 each. Semi-Final. Awapuni beat Nino of Diamonds. Bright Beauty beat Respite. Nine of Diamonds led away to the hare at. first, but on the hare turning into Awapuni's track tho latter did the bulk of the working and showed superior speed both on the straight and on the turns. Respite led up, but worked ba*dly and at times showed poor pace or disinclination to extend himself, consequently losing the tourse.

Final. Mr Martin Taylor's (Auckland) f b Bright Beauty, Bettor Days—Housegirl,heat Mr W. Gentleman's (Timaru) blk and w d Awapuni, Spawhill—Minto. Bright Beauty led by a length and got Hie first turn. Awapuni .scored a point then Bright Beauty another, and tho two raced home together. Tho winner made 4 points in all and the runner-up made 3. SUPPLEMENTARY STAKE; first dog £B, runner-up £4, third dog £2, two dogs at £l. Tliird Round.

Lady Rosette beat Tui. Green Harp beat Twilight.

Gardenia, a bye. Although Tui, in her course with Lady Rosette, got a kill she was outclassed in leading np and working her game. Both Twilight and Green Harp were mow in sighting the hare, but as soon as Green Harp gob it into his line of vision he put in some smart working, though he lo.<«t the haro to his runner-up. Gardenia hail a bye. Semi-final. Lady Rosette beat CJardenia. Green Harp, a bye. Although Gardenia got a kill she was out-paced by Lady Rosette, who did some smart work on (he turns.
