BARE MAJORITY AFFIRMED. Per Press Association. . WESTPORT,. March 30. At the conference of ho-licerise representatives from all parts of the frulier electorate, the Rev. Rugby Pratt presiding, the principle of deciding the licensing issue by a bare majority was affirmect. The conference asked for a Dominion' nolicense vote by a simple, majpiity. and also for a licencing vote at every general election,, whether three years had elapsed or not. RALLY IN OH.RISTCHURCH. OHRISTCHURCfI, March 30. The prohibitionists held a great nolicense, rally in the Opera House on Sunday evening. It was decided to open the campaign with a 'ten .days' canvass in order to raise £ISOO |r> conduct an even more vigours-crusade than those of former vears dgainst ihe drink traffic. Messrs T. !•'. Taylor and H. D. Bedford, exM.H.R.s, were speakeis. The meeting \vnti very enthusiastic, and 150 collectors were appointed.
