FOOTBALL.
THE CELTIC CLUB. The third annual meeting of (lis Celtic Football Club was held 1-st tvei ?ng. The Rev. Father Le Floe as president occupied the chair. Tlio secretary read the balance-sheet and report and a mi lion was carried adopting these as r*«d. The president congratulated the club en the success of the'team and also on their financial aspect, the balance-sheet shoving a credit of £l6 15s. Several of tho members spoke in congratulory strains on the subject. The election of officers resulted as follows :—Patron and president. Rev. Father Le Floe: vice-presidents, Rev. Father Kerley, Messrs J. Irwin ,E. Mara, I). Mahoney, and Skinner; secretary and treasurer, J. C- Mara (re-elected); manager of team. Rev. Father LeFloc; delegate to Rugby Union, Rev. Father Kerley. A committee of seven members was also elected. The club decided to play two matches at Easter, the Juniors with Athletics of Invercargill. and tho Presidents with Old Boys' (Christchurch), and two committees were formed to work up the matches. It was decided to write to tho High School Board asking for permission to use the gymnasium for practice purposes. The date of opening was fixed for 12th March and the committee were instructed to endeavour to get a suitable around.
