In the House of Lords. Lord Camjx-r----down'ts Scottish Small Landholders' Bill was read a second time, despite a remark by Earl Crewe that the Bill was an intentional slight on the House of Common.;. Earl Rosebeiy retorted that the Bill emphasized the football-like 'precipitancy with which the House of Commons was sending up Government Bills.

Mr J. L. Morgan, who was appointed Recorder for Swansea, has been re elected for Carmarthen West, unopposed. The House of negatived the introduction of Mr T. Corbett's Bill to appoint. Commissioners to inquire into the need for inspection of monasteries and convents.
