Corbett and Wigley; secretary and treasurer, Mr F. Tasken The secretary reported on a meeting of delegates held in Wellington to draw Tip a constitution for a New Zealand Motor Association. He read the rules proposed to be adopted. The constitution proposed that the first meeting should be held in Wellington, the headquarters, and that the Hon. T. W. Hislop, Mayor of Wellington should Le the first president. Each affiliating club would be entitled to one delegate to every 50 members and the fees to be paid by each club would be at the rate of 2s 6d for each member. The object of the proposed association was to protect the interests of motorists and to take action where necessary in legal matters affecting them. The secretary said it would be for this meeting to decide whether to affiliate or not. Members -unanimously agreed not to do so as they were of opinion that tlie association would be of no benefit to South Canterbury; but if the necessity arose they could join later. It was thought that a Canterbury or South Island Association would be better for their interests. An invitation from Mr Edgar Jones to have a club run to Mt. Nessing on Thursday or Friday next was discussed and it was decided to make enquiries among motorists to find out how many could take part before finally accepting the invitation ,as Mr Jones Lad expressed a wi>bod to haw a good crowd take part. It was mentioned in the discussion that tb.9 club had 42 members and that a fair proportion of- these should make an endeavour to join in tlie trip. It was also agreed that Sunday jaunts into the surroundim: country should be arranged, this being the only day on which the majority could take parr. An hororarium to the secretary, Mr T.vker, for past services was granted and the meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chairman.
