STATEMENIT IN THE SENATE.
Press Association-By Telegraph-Copyright Received 12.28 a.m.: February 15th. MELBOURNE, February 14. Mr Best informed the .Senate that the stranded Bulgarians came out as the result of wicked land misleading representations bv certain unscrupulous agents whom it. is impossible to identify. These agents "uara-nteed to land them in New Zealand or Australia, but would not. be responsible if the Government, of either country objected to their landing. They have not the right to claim their passage money back. The Bulgarians were informed that they would get work as soon as they landed, payment at the rate of £1 per day being' iuaranteed until they secured employment. Mr Best added that even if the" Government could discover the agents day being guaranteed until tl"v secured have any control over them. Further inquiries were being made;
