SOUTH CANTERBURY DISTRICT. The annual meeting of the South Canterburv District A.O.F. was held at Waimate. " Bro. P. Grant.'D.C.R. presided, and was assisted by P.D.C.R. Bro. Adams and the various officers. The following couits were represented : —Court 3125 (Bros. .Burford, Jones, and Werry). Court 6073 (Bios. O'Callaghtin and Williams), Com* 6732 (Bros. Hopkins and Emery), Court 7929 (Bros. McLeay and Head). There were al.io present a huge number of members of Court Foresters Pride. Correspondence in and out wins read and received. The auditors' report and balance slit et was presented by Bro. A. J. Jones. The report regretted that the funeral claims for the year had been h.-;\v. the amount paid out amouii'hig i.i -OJV-i. Seven members, six wiveu. and on.- v. :-.:ow had died during the year, and they ex pressed the hope that next year's experience would be more favourable. On the motion of Bros. O'Callaghan and Emery the balance s.lu<;t and report were adopted. A que-stion was received from the Friendly Societies' Guarantee Association as to whether fines should be inflicted on Courts in the event of any of their officers acting dir honestly. The meeting was not hi favour of any alteration being made in th-.- rules. ! Bro. Justice having b.en done to the good things provided a pleasant hour was spent in harmony, some capital songs being given by 7Jro.s. Emery. Jones. Wei rv'and d.liers. and the singing of " Au'.d.
