A Meeting of Monarchs.

| A GitKAT DAY AT WINDSOR, On November 17th there was an unique family gathering at Windsor Castle. There were assembled within the grey old walls of the castle three Kings and live QueensCor.i3oit, and the meeting of so many Royalties, most of whom are bound by tin; closest family ties, is probably without parallel. Luncheon was served in the State dining room, and the Royal party numbered twenty-four. There were the King, Queen Alexandra, the German Emperor and Empress, the King and Queen of Spain, the Quceo of Fortugai, the Giaui.l Duke and Duchess Vladimir of Russia, the infanta Isabel, l'riao© and Princess Joliann George of .Saxony, the Duchess D'Aosta, the Prince and Princess of Walee, the Princess Royal, the- Duke of Fife, Princess Victoria, the Duke and Duchess of C'onnaugiit, and Prir.ciss Henry of Uaticnberg. Although five Sovereigns were staying at Windsor for the funeral of Queen Victoria., there has never before been such a gathering of Sovereigns and Queens Consort. and the members of so many great Royal Houses round the stately .banqueting board in Windsor Castle.

Immediately after hmclieon the Roval party went to the. Crimson Drawing Room, where enme remarkable photographs were taken. The light was not good, but a special aic-lamp of 10.0C0 candle power was brought down from London and riveted in the room. In the first- group Ihr> thive Sovereigns and the five Queen,■3 were photographed together, and this picture will have unique interest owing to the eireumstnnces already described. Then the King and Queen of Spain weie photographed, and the German Emperor and Emprccs. and the four members of the Connaught family also posed ljqfore ths camera.
