Sonic-tiling of a disturbance took place in Cathedral Sijuare to-night resulting .in the arrest of two men, one (a seaman from the Pyra-mus) for being drunk while in charge of a horse and trap and for driving in a> reckless and dangerous maimer and the other (a civilian) for inciting the crowd to vusist the .police. A trap containing three seamen, more or less intoxicated, 'had been, careering through the city streets throughout the earlv evening and many collisions were; narrowly avoided. The vehicle was stopped by the police, in. Cathedral Square and the occupants ordered to get nut. They refused ; a struggle followed, and a, Jarg* crowd immediately congregated, many sliding with the men and hooting tho police, hi the general melee two of the three; men got, a.way but the third man was captured, together with a vouug man who had been taking an active part in the hostile demonstration. The crowd followed the constables and the prisoners to the police station, hooting the police and cheering the navy.
